NOVEMBER 14,2001 - FATALITYPolice Release Name of Collision Victim
RCMP have released the name of the Cut Knife man killed in a weekend truck-train collision west of Saskatoon. Troy A Breault was 27. The collision occurred 48 kilometres northwest of Unity at a marked train crossing. The eastbound CN train struck the side of a southbound semi-trailer. The truck-trailer caught fire. An investigation by CN police and Unity RCMP revealed the truck was heading south on a grid roadshortly afer 7:30 pm Friday. The truck, which was transporting a new oil tank, was accompanied by two pilot vehicles According to RCMP, the lead pilot vehicle warned the semi-trailer about the approaching train, but Breault, the truck's lone occupant, did not stop and tried to cross the rail line. No charges are contemplated against any individuals or corporations, an RCMP spokesperson said Tuesday.
